Good Ridance Geocities!
Wow, talk about unloading a bunch of crap off the internet. This will be like cleaning the back corners of the internet that no one visits.
10 million spots now freed up in the Google index!

Hey my first website was a geocities site. It will still be there until they shut it down. It was the first site of the underdogmilitia, before I bought underdogmilitia.net.
However I do agree with your annoyance of people gaming google and the other search engines.
I once saw a video where this seo guy was bragging about having a bunch of sites owned by the same person in the top ten for the same keywords on google search.
The problem with that, is when I do a search on something, it is because I’m looking for diverse views. Not a bunch of sites owned by the same person.
BTW…found you on blogville.us……on the recent update page.
Unbelievable that Yahoo just dumped all those pages though. I am sure most of them were low quality, but the amount of traffic and page views they lost is amazing to me. But perhaps Yahoo had their reasons.
